Through the incorporation of these different aspects within each of the precedents, a shiny new template for suburbia is born; advertised as the future of housing and ready to welcome its residents to a “better” way of living. With a new kit of parts for the suburban model, a new version of Utopia is presented. These new models certainly address some issues with past suburban models of development, such as car-centric, single-use neighbourhoods and neglect of existing natural typologies. However, we are left wondering if these improvements are enough and what potential failures of this new model of suburban development might be.
